2nd Annual Homebrew Hootenanny at WonderRoot

Sat, 11/08/2008 - 16:52

2nd Annual Homebrew Hootenanny @ WonderRoot

For the second year in a row, a group of musicians and home-brewers are coming together to celebrate folk music and the growing art of home-brewing. This celebration has been called the Homebrew
Hootenanny.

It is a folk music show, dinner, workshops, and home-brew showcase all in one. The Homebrew Hootenanny not only celebrates creating your own brew and music, but also positive community growth!
Each year volunteers organize the event and all bands and brewers donate their time to a great cause.

This year all proceeds will go to a fund for the use of publishing a local’s book. His name is George Sossenko and he is 89 years old. At sixteen he ran away from home to fight in the Spanish Civil War
against fascism in the Durruti Column. His family caught up to him and moved to Argentina to avoid WW2, but he fled, once again, to fight fascism in North Africa. All of these stories and more are in his book “The Idealistic Adventurer” and with your help he’ll be able to get underway with publishing it so the world can know his wonderful story.

Homebrew Hootenanny
WonderRoot Community Arts Center
Saturday, November 8
Doors 4pm | Music 8pm | $5
Food and drinks will be set at suggested donation levels.

No one will be turned away from the door and all proceeds will go to George Sossenko to help publish his book. The Homebrew Hootenanny is a community-oriented event and promotes the positive artistic crafts of music and brewing.
